King Fiddler

King Fiddler is an in development Arena / Colosseum-Based Wave Survival kinda souls-like game.
Overview:
In the game, you play as a gynandromorph fiddler crab named 'Uca' during early mating season on a small sandy island in the middle of the sea. Just as you are getting romantic, a rougue coconut crab appears and holds your beloved hostage, believing and wanting to be the one to mate with her. He sends Uca flying across the ocean to a mangrove swamp where they are ambushed by a various enemies. They needs to fight their way through and build their strength up so they can reclaim their beloved.
Features, Mechanics, & Gameplay:
This game will feature unique movement and combat capabilities that attempt to mimic real world fiddler crabs, while also being first-person.
- Movement: You movement will be restricted to left and right motion, with forward and back having you move agonisingly slow while also draining your stamina.
- Stamina: Stamina is a mechanic that will effect various actions such as dashes, forward movement, and combat.
- Throwables: You can throw enemies at other enemies for massive destruction. It doesn't matter if they're dead or alive, they will always be a weapon.
- Meat Shield: You can grab and hold enemies to use as a meat shield. They will take damage for you, but will eventually shatter and disappear after numerous uses.
- Moulting: Moulting allows you to shed your shell, increasing your move speed, while dropping down the discarded exoskeleton to use as a weapon or meat shield.
- Combat: Combat will attempt mimic various fighting and souls-likes, with features such as blocking, grabbing, grounded attacks, aerial attacks, dash attacks, and even parrying. Just remember that all these will use stamina.
- Waves: Right now, the game is planned to have a wave system where you will be tasked with defeating all the enemies to progress. Some waves may have special objectives, like surviving for a set amount of time, or even mini bosses. On the final wave of each arena, you will be tasked with defeating the bosses.
- Arenas: The arenas are all nature based and progress based on Uca's journey back to home with his beloved. The arenas are similar to colosseums, but their general shape will be different across each level.
- Multiplayer (Stretch Goal): At some point we want to eventually add a multiplayer system. It is planned to be a 4-person last man standing type battle royale, with the victor being decided based on whichever player is the first to reach 2 or 3 wins.
